Iranian Firms to Develop South Azadegan Processing Unit
- TEHRAN, Aug 16 (Shana) – Operator of the development project of South Azadegan Oilfield says the main contractor of a 320,000b/d processing unit for the project will be an Iranian company, saying 13 domestic and foreign firms have so far voiced their readiness to carry out the project.

Speaking to Shana, Seyyed Mahmoud Marashi said the bids by the contractors will be presented to Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) by late September.
He expressed hope that the project’s destiny will be determined by then.
Phase I of the oilfield’s development will produce 320,000 b/d and in the second phase 280,000b/d will be produced bringing its total output to 600,000 b/d.
He said 19 drilling rigs are currently operating at the oilfield.
Currently 50,000 b/d is being produced from the field.
